Program Requirements

What are the requirements for each Image program?  Click on the brand logo at the top of this page for information, including all required forms, for each image program.

How do I enroll in Image?  Contact your Zone Manager for information on enrolling. This must be done online at this web site. Please follow instructions to obtain a PIN and submit the online form.

What is ACM?  ACM stands for Aluminum Composite Material. This is a panel made of aluminum sheets on each side with a composite material on the interior. It is installed through a variety of fasteners, either directly to the building substrate or to metal brackets.

What color is the ACM?  For Chevrolet, the primary fascia ACM is silver metallic. The entry is blue. The frame around the opening of the entry is brushed hairline aluminum. The ACM for BPG is white at the top band of the fascia, black at the bottom band. The Entry is comprised of brushed hairline aluminum and polished mirror aluminum.

Do I have to use ACM? ACM is a requirement for the upper portion of the elevation of the showroom perimeter for Chevrolet and BG.

How much does the Entry/Tower cost? The towers for Chevrolet and BG vary in cost depending on the size of the building and the size of the entry. Typically, these are estimated at between $90,000 and $140,000.

How are requests for substitutions or changes submitted?  Contact your Zone Manager. They can file for an exception.

Is additional assistance available?  Yes. See the "Contact Us" section of this website.

Finishes, Fixtures, Furniture

Where do I get the Greeter's Desk? Manufacturers of the Greeter Desks for Chevrolet and Buick/GMC are listed in your Design Intent Document. The desks may also be fabricated by a local millwork contractor.

Do I have to replace my existing ceramic tile? Contact your Zone Manager. They can file for an exception.

Can I keep my existing furniture? The furniture design, finish and color are specific to each brand. It is important that the entire retail environment work together to reinforce the "Brand". If the existing furniture is similar to the specified furniture in design, finish, and color, and if it is commercial grade in quality, it can remain. Contact your Zone Manager. They can file for an exception.

Where do I get the Brand Elements for Chevrolet and BG? The logo screens, PIC, and other required elements are available through an approved GM source, DCI, see the https://gmdw.dcim.com/Customer/login.asp.

Do I have to use this Greeter Desk? Each division has a brand specific greeter desk. This must be included in all Image projects. The desk can be purchased from GM approved sources, or can be fabricated locally. It must, however, meet the exact same specifications if it is fabricated locally.

Do I have to have individual service writer's desks? Individual sit-down desks are the preferred solution for service writers. Individual stand-up desks are also allowed. A single, long counter is the least preferred solution due to the "visual barrier" it creates between the customer and the service writer. Your DID contains designs for each brands specific desk.

What do I have to do to get my existing furniture approved? Contact your Zone Manager. They can file for an exception.

Can I use furniture?  The specified furniture defines the design, finish, and quality of the required furniture. Other furniture manufacturers are acceptable. For approval of furniture other than the specifications included in the Design Intent Document, submit a layout of the furniture, along with the specifications, brochures, and finish samples to Gensler.

If don't like the furniture finishes (fabric, paint, wood, laminates, etc.) can I use something else?  The design style, finishes, appearance, and quality must match that of the specified furniture. See question above regarding substitutes.

How long does it take to get furniture or fixtures? Typical lead times are 6 to 8 weeks. This may vary depending the specific product ordered, the size of the order, and other factors.

What is BFM?  This is the modular information center for each division with color and trim samples, along with literature. See https://gmdw.dcim.com/Customer/login.asp.

Construction

Can I get duplicate copies of the drawings, finish samples, and other information included in the design intent document?   Electronic copies of all drawings and finish and furniture schedules are located on the CD that was shipped to you after the consult.

What is the review process for the documents prepared by the Owner's architect for conformance with the design intent requirements?  Gensler will review complete sets of construction documents to determine compliance with the requirements. The documents are to be emailed to gmfi_CD-Review@gensler.com. Include the BAC number, Dealership Name, and Location (Example: 999999 Dealer Name Anytown, USA) in the subject line of the email and include a contact name in the body of the email. The email should not exceed 8 MB in size. Two reviews are included within the scope of the Design Intent Services. Partial and additional reviews will be charged as an hourly service. This cost will be invoiced to the dealer's BARS account.

Signs

What are the sign requirements?  Each Image program has specific building and pylon signs that are required for that program. See the "GMDI Pylon Signs and Building Signs" link on the www.gmfacilityimage.com web site. AGI is the sole signage provider of GM and must be used.

Can I use my dealer logo on building sign?  The dealer name on the front elevation of the building must be the required GM Gothic font. Logos cannot be included. These can be placed on the sides or rear elevation in some instances, but must be pre-approved by GM.

Can I keep my light bar?  All elements from any previous image program must be removed from the building.
